Exploring Madrid’s best spots to party
First of all, you need to find out which neighbourhoods have the best spots to party in Madrid . There are some neighborhoods that are more famous for nightlife than others. I hope this guide will help you to pick the best known places in the city.
The top neighborhoods to party in Madrid
Malasaña
With a fresh and youthful atmosphere, this neighborhood is a meeting point for young people who enjoy live music, especially electronic, punk, metal, and rock.
Partying in Malasaña is an unforgettable experience if you like this type of music. However, if you prefer indie or pop, you will also find venues that suit your tastes in this area.
Downtown Madrid
In the epicenter of Madrid you have everything, from bars, and pubs to clubs. Everything is very close.
La Latina Neighborhood
This well-known neighborhood of Madrid (not to be confused with the Latina District) has a thousand things to do, one of them being enjoying the night. Thus, you can eat tapas, attend jazz, hip-hop, flamenco concerts, etc.
If you like hip-hop and want a concert hall in Madrid to enjoy hip-hop, without a doubt, la Latina is your place.
What’s more, La Latina, over the years, has welcomed the LGTBIQ+ community. It is known as “Little Chueca”.
Chueca, best LGTBI-friendly spot in Madrid to party
Known for being the LGBTIQ+ neighborhood of the capital and where Pride in Madrid is celebrated, it is one of the most cosmopolitan areas of the Spanish capital. Curiously, it has achieved this without losing part of the old-fashioned neighborhood essence that it still preserves.
If you want to flirt while being part of the LGTBIQ+ community, here are three well-known places: you & me (it’s a cocktail bar but the music is very good), twist & short (the best shots!), Fulanito de tal (for girls).
Las Letras Neighborhood
The Las Letras neighborhood is the ideal option for art lovers looking for where to party in Madrid. The streets of this neighborhood emanate culture everywhere so I recommend that you take a walk 😉 On the other hand, there are countless bars and party places, with options for both dancing and attending Argentine tango shows.
If you like 80s music, there is a place called “My mother was a groupie”. It is open on Fridays and Saturdays.
Uncover the Best Party Spots in Madrid for Cocktails
1862 Dry bar
It is a classic bar with a very elegant atmosphere. It is mega-known in Madrid and internationally, since it is one of the 100 best bars in the world.
Salmon Guru
Salmon Guru is considered the best in Madrid, here you will find all the cocktails you want. It is indeed somewhat expensive but both the atmosphere and the quality of the drinks are worth it!
StreetXo
In the 7 days in Madrid post, I already mentioned this DiverXO restaurant. It is one of the best-known in Spain, owned by Dabiz Muñoz.
Well, the StreetXO is the little sister, where the prices are more affordable (although it is still somewhat more expensive). Be that as it may, it is worth having lunch or dinner at StreetXO and the cocktails they prepare are a delight, they are made in a very original way.
StreetXO is located on Serrano Street.
The best clubs in Madrid to party
If you want to know where the best clubs in Madrid are located, keep reading. Believe me when I tell you that this guide with the best places in Madrid is for all tastes and all audiences.
Ready to discover the best clubs in Madrid to party? Take note
Mondo Disko
Located near Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Cibeles (n 20 Alcalá), this club is open from Thursdays to Saturdays. It is an alternative nightclub in Madrid that is not bad at all for getting to know the nightlife in the city.
The ticket is around 20 euros and you can buy it on their website.
Medias Puri, the most original club in Madrid to party!
I know the name sounds very strange, but Spaniards are very creative!
The best thing about this place? It’s super different… and a very original party! There are shows between songs, very fun, eclectic, surreal shows 🙂
It is located in the Tirzo de Molina square.
Uñas Chung Lee
How is a clandestine party held in a nail salon?
Chung Lee is Medias Puri’s cousin. And, like in Medias Puri, there are also shows here between songs (they start at 11:45 p.m. and last until 3:00 a.m.)
Teatro Kapital
Located very close to the Reina Sofia Museum (a step away from Atocha Station) it is one of the largest nightclubs in Madrid. And from my point of view, it is one of the places that most deserve to give a try! Indeed this is one of the best spots in Madrid to party.
Why Kapital is so famous?
You have many rooms, with different music in each of them and it is a cozy place, you won’t get bored. The Main Room is for electronic music lovers and is usually packed with people. But also, you have karaoke, a cocktail bar on the fourth floor, a room to dance only reggaeton…this makes this place one of the best clubs in Madrid to dance until the wee hours of the morning.
Furthermore, the ticket is not very expensive, 20 euros per person. And the best? It is open from Wednesday to Sunday, you can dance until six in the morning!
To get there, you can take the metro, line 1, and get off at Estacion del Arte.
Lula Club
It has become a famous place located on Gran Via in Madrid. If there is a theme party, admission can cost up to 35 euros with a free drink. The music is electronic (every weekend there are different international DJs) and mainstream in general.
Fabrik
Also one of the best known in Spain, it is the home of electronic music. The negative point about Fabrik is that it is outside of Madrid but if you want to visit a big club in Spain, this place is undoubtedly the perfect place.
Ochoymedio Club
El Ochoymedio, located in the Malasaña neighborhood, is a club that covers a wide range of styles within pop, from alternative to mainstream. In addition, it offers urban music such as reggaeton and rap, as well as electronic, disco, dance, current hits, and rescues from the 90s and 00s. This club opens every morning on Friday and Saturday until six in the morning.
The best pubs & bars in Madrid to party
Maybe you don’t feel like going from club to club, but rather something lighter. Well, in Madrid I don’t know if the party can be described as “light” but there are quieter places.
Here I leave you the best bars to party in Madrid.
Sala de despiece
With a decoration reminiscent of a neighborhood butcher shop and techno music in the background, the first impression can be disconcerting. However, once you try the first course and enjoy the first beers, the experience changes completely.
If you are looking for a restaurant to eat well and have a good atmosphere to warm up before starting the party, you will like it!
La Lianta
One of my favorite places to party in Madrid. La Lianta is a bar where you will be able to enjoy delicious food but its atmosphere invites you to enjoy rounds of drinks, from beer to cocktails.
Plus, this place is open all day, making it ideal for after work!
Corazón
Since its opening more than seven years ago, Corazón has become the meeting point of Madrid’s modern crowd. Every weekend, an eclectic crowd gathers at this bar which, thanks to its decoration, maintains the personality of the old cocktail lounges. It is located at 44 Valverde Street.
Catarsis
If you think that any time is better, you will be happy to know that there is a cocktail bar in Chamberí where you can go back to the 80s and 90s.
It is located at 14 Ponzano Street.
The Best Rooftop Bars of Madrid
Don’t you feel like going to a club or a pub? Don’t worry, in this guide to partying in Madrid, you have all kinds of places!
Rooftops have become fashionable in Madrid for a few years and if you want to enjoy fantastic views, the perfect plan is at the top of the buildings!
I’m going to give you the list of the best rooftops in Madrid
Circulo de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts)
Known for the beautiful views it offers and its excellent location, this place does not go unnoticed by both Madrid residents and tourists. Here you can have a drink, lunch, and dinner since there is a restaurant.
The schedules depend on the day of the week so check online before going. To get into the rooftop you must buy the general admission ticket though.
It is located on Alcalá Street in beginning of Gran Vía.
PS: Since you pay general admission to the fine arts circle, take advantage and get to know it! 😉
360º Rooftop Bar
Located in the Hotel Riu Plaza España, it offers magnificent views. It is a central place in the Spanish capital for you to relax, with a sublime atmosphere and very modern decoration.
They are open all day until dawn, so you have no excuse not to come to this place and enjoy their cocktails!
Of course, you will have to pay a small amount to access if you are not a hotel customer.
Hotel Emperador
The terrace of the Hotel Emperador has one of the best views of the Spanish capital since it is located on Gran Vía. It even has a pool so imagine how spectacular it is! The rooftop bar serves signature cocktails prepared by expert bartenders. You will see that these alchemists know how to mix intense and delicious flavors, and that the prices are excellent.
Penthouse 11
Also located on Gran Via, it offers an informative atmosphere where you can taste the best tapas along with a wide variety of vermouths, cocktails and other drinks. It’s at the Iberostar Hotel.
Ella Sky Bar
Having vermouth at Ella Sky Bar Madrid is recovering a very traditional tradition, with the additional attraction of being on the roof of one of the most emblematic buildings in Gran Vía. Enjoy the aperitif while contemplating one of the best views of the capital from one of the highest points of this iconic street, facing the Royal Palace.
The Best Flamenco spots to party in Madrid
La Latina is also known for its flamenco, with several venues dedicated to this art. One of the best tables in the city, and in the world, is El Corral de la Morería, which has a Michelin Star.
Also another flamenco venue in La Latina is La Cueva de Lola, a restaurant with flamenco shows.
Anyway, do you dare to visit any of these incredible party places in Madrid?
